Explanation – How Beans Grow
This unit will link with our science work this half term
Lesson Title- To Listen and respond to an explanation
Grammar – practise spellings of tricky words; some, she, they, full, said and we. You can practise these words without watching the video if you prefer and you can then fast forward to the main lesson.
Listen to Miss Toole tell perform an explanation about how beans grow. Learn a song to remember the most important things about growing beans.
Lesson title – to tell an explanation map from memory
Listen to the explanation text again. Map the explanation text step by step with Miss Toole. Perform your text map using lots of actions.
Lesson title – To explain steps in a process
Grammar – spellings ask, of, me, I, so, was, were, today. You can practise these words without watching the video if you prefer and you can then fast forward to the main lesson.
Lesson- Recap the five steps of the explanation. Draw a picture for each step and write a caption to go with the picture.
Lesson title – to use full stops.
Review the explanation text all about growing a bean. Help Miss Toole check the writing and add in the full stops. Write sentences to go with the pictures. Remember your full stops!
